I was neither interviewed by the department nor did I appear for any exam or entrance. There is no additional reference letter required for the scholarship. The scholarship application is evaluated on the basis of the 3 reference letters which applicants are required to submit to the School when they initially apply for a place of study as a Ph.D. student.
My Experiences at the University of Leeds:
My academic experience in the School of English has been absolutely fantastic, to say the least! As an international postgraduate student, I have benefited immensely from the wonderful exposure to a new, global academic culture, with respect to my interaction with my peers, from different countries across the world, and their own unique socio-cultural experiences, and also, with respect to my M.A. and Ph.D. Programmes which have acquainted me with the literature and culture of a wide range of postcolonial societies, from the various South Asian, African, Native American, and Indigenous Australian ethnicities, to the Black British, Caribbean, and African American/Asian American diasporas.
