I was awarded Tetley & Lupton Scholarship. I was not interviewed by the Department. I was required to submit a formal application with personal statement and the references usually required for admission.

Experience at University of Leeds:
My taught course at University of Leeds has been an enjoyable one with practical exposure at international standards, supporting lecturers and great infrastructure. The university is a very useful place for those looking forward to gain more skills and knowledge in their career. I am really happy.

2002-12th State Board Tamilnadu, 93%

Mr.Arun Jose

Scholarship: Faculty of Engineering Excellence Scholarship

 
 

I received the Faculty of Engineering Excellence Scholarship. I was not interviewed and there was no exam or test. Only the application form needs to be sent, but if the actual reference letter provided for admission mentions your skills, I believe it will help but there are no attachments accepted with the scholarship application.

Academic Profile:
2002-2006 Completed BE Automobile Engineering, 86% from Anna University with Rank 3
2000-2002 Completed CBSE 12th with just 74%
1999-2000 Completed CBSE 10th like any average student would, 72%

Work Experience:
Worked for a year with Caritor India (P) Ltd. Bangalore as a Software Engineer
1 week training at Apollo Tyres, Cochin
1 month training at Firma Hook Tech (P) Ltd, Sulthan Battery

What I believe is the applicant has to show his desire and interest in the selected field. A good project during the bachelor’s degree will also help a lot.

Extra Co-curricular Activities:
Had published a paper on All terrain Vehicles at a National Level Conference at NIT Rourkela. IBM Certified Database Associate – December 2004.

 
Mr Arun Prasad Venugopal

Scholarship: Shell Centenary Chevening University of Leeds Scholarship

 
 

I received Shell Centenary Chevening University of Leeds Scholarship. After examining the application, the Leeds University sent my application to Shell. Then, I was Interviewed by the Shell company official and British council official through telephone. There was no entrance or Exams. It is necessary to attach a reference letter from the employer or institution where we had been with.

Experience at University of Leeds:
I applied only to University of Leeds, since it is good in textiles and have a specific course that I  wanted. University is amazing and it has provided me with many opportunities to get me involved in development activities. I am proud to be with Leeds University.  University has friendly and experienced faculty. I am now going to do my doctorate here after completion of my masters.

Academic Profile:
2003-2006 Bachelors in Textile Technology (92%) at PSG College of Technology
1996-1998 completed my Diploma in Textile Technology (86%) at PSG Polytechnic
10th State Board Tamilnadu with 81%

Work Experience:
After completing my Diploma, I joined Lakshmi Mills and worked for two years and then I shifted to Lakshmi Machine works as a technologist in R&D for betterment and there I worked for 7 years. During this period I did my Bachelors in Textile Technology.
